Private yoga classes are tailored to your personal health and fitness level, injuries, and goals. With private instruction you can focus on a particular concern, physical adjustments, and asana variations. Private instruction provides the opportunity to go deeper into each pose safely. As a result, you will develop a stronger and safer yoga practice. Private yoga also offers the advantage of being able to deepen your practice by learning the fundamentals of yoga, breathing techniques, alignment adjustments, and modifications for injuries and health conditions. Lessons can be in your home, work space, or studios where I teach.
We can address your needs in advance and structure your yoga practice accordingly. I will choose specific postures and sequences to address individual musculo-skeletal imbalances. I can offer techniques to use on your own or in group classes.
2. I will offer specific pose modifications or alternatives for your unique body type and needs. So, the next time you are in class, you won't have to wonder what to do during Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulder stand).
3. You will develop a true understanding of yoga poses and breathing techniques and the benefits of the practice. This can lead to a more efficient and skillful yoga practice and avoid the sense of getting lost in a fast paced group class.
4. The pace and intensity of each class can be adapted to your daily and individual needs and goals. You can work at a more vigorous or athletic pace, focusing on strength or endurance, have a more mellow practice which emphasizes stress reduction, or spend more time on a handful of poses, etc.
5. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, which is helpful when learning yoga.
6. You can receive support and instruction for developing a personalized home practice.
7. You can have the opportunity to cultivate a more intimate student/teacher dynamic.
Corporate yoga classes are group classes taught at the workplace. These classes can be held in media rooms, conference rooms, gyms, or at select yoga studios. Classes are often offered in the morning before work, during lunchtime, or post work. Classes are tailored to the needs of the group and often emphasize stress management and relaxation techniques that utilize breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation techniques and a physical practice (asana).
Reasons for Yoga at Work (Corporate Yoga)
Yoga at work adds value to employee benefits programs, enhances work place relationships, increases productivity, improves efficiency, concentration, and decreases missed work days due to illness. It is for these reasons that many businesses now offer yoga classes to their employees.
A regular yoga practice can offer benefits to all. It can be especially beneficial for employees who work long hours or spend significant amounts of the work week seated at a desk.
1. Yoga classes can provide the resources and tools for employees to learn and implement stress management practices.
2. Yoga improves the immune system and may result in better overall health and decreased absenteeism.
3. Yoga can benefit mental acuity and concentration which helps to improve productivity, motivation, time management, and overall work performance.
4. Yoga can also increase creativity and enhance decision making abilities by improving overall awareness.
5. Yoga improves energy and mental clarity.
6. Yoga with coworkers can benefit job satisfaction, work place morale, cultivates positive thinking patterns, and builds camaraderie among coworkers.
7. Yoga can counteract muscle tension and physical pain that results from sedentary work requirements.
8. Yoga improves breathing, heart rate, and circulation and can reduce the frequency, duration, and intensity of headaches.
Classes are typically offered as 4-12 week course packages and can be held once or twice a week. Typically class duration is 60-80 minutes.
Companies can choose from three hosting options:
Full subsidy: The employers offers the class complimentary to their employees
